Terms of Service

For €0.99 you reserve one point on the PointOnEarth globe and publish a name and a short message beside it. This is a symbolic, digital keepsake. It grants no ownership, title, right of access or any other legal interest in real land or property anywhere on Earth.

Each point is unique and can only be claimed once. Availability is confirmed at the moment of payment; if a point is claimed by someone else first, no charge is completed.

You are responsible for the name and message you publish. Do not submit content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, deceptive, sexually explicit, or that infringes anyone else's rights or privacy. We may remove any claim that breaches this rule, without refund.

By submitting content you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display it publicly on the globe, on your place page and in share cards.

You may not use PointOnEarth to impersonate another person or organisation, to publish personal data about someone else, to advertise or spam, to circumvent moderation or rate limits, or to attempt automated or bulk claiming of points. Forbidden content includes hate speech, threats, harassment, sexual content involving minors, terrorist or extremist propaganda, scams, malware links and anything unlawful in the European Union.

We may hide, edit or remove any claim breaching these rules, and may block further purchases from a repeat offender, without refund.

The PointOnEarth name, logo, interface, code and design are owned by the operator of this site and may not be copied or reused without permission. Satellite imagery, boundary data and place names remain the property of their respective providers and are used under their licence terms. You keep ownership of the text you submit and confirm you have the right to publish it.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid for the affected claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, or for content published by other users. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights.

These terms are governed by the laws of Italy, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence in the European Union. Disputes fall under the courts of the operator's place of establishment, unless mandatory law gives you the right to bring proceedings where you live. EU consumers can also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform.

Payments are handled by Stripe in euro. Because the claim is delivered immediately as digital content, purchases are final. If a technical failure means your place was never published, contact us and we will publish it or refund you.

We aim to keep every claimed place online permanently, but the service is provided as is, without warranty of uninterrupted availability.

We may update these terms. Continued use of PointOnEarth after an update means you accept the revised terms.
